In March 2005, Elise Pepple brought a class of young women from the neighborhood's Grand Street Settlement to visit the Matzo files and talk with some of its female artists.
The girls, who had been studying some of the important women in history, were able to look at some of the art in the files; ask questions about artmaking, being artists, and how the Matzo files was created; as well as taste some matzo fresh from Streit's oven.
