As an installation artist, Shelly McGuinness creates controlled
environments where space, light and sound are an integral part of
the experience. Through the use of simple materials and basic mechanical
devises she attempts to create somewhat minimalist environments
which absorb the viewers attention and encourage a meditative approach.
In the same spirit, repetitive patterns and oscillating sounds bring
an almost hypnotic quality to the work.
