Following the tremendous success of AAI's last works on paper benefit we are thrilled and delighted to invite you to join us at our upcoming event "A Communist Gala" a benefit for artists by artists. AAI is delighted to announce Nancy Freidemann and Charley Friedman's return as Co-Chairs.
Attracting an overwhelming response from an exciting and egalitarian group of emerging, mid-career and established artists who generously donated their artworks, the exhibition will open at noon on Saturday, April 17 and run through Saturday, April 24, 2010. All works will be sold for under $100. The affordability of the work allows artists to be collectors and also provides an opportunity for art enthusiasts to inexpensively invest in a diverse selection of artists. Artworks will be rotated through out the week-long show.
The proceeds of the benefit will go towards Artists Alliance, an artist run non-profit organization based on the Lower East Side that provides vital support to artists through its core programs; LES-Rotating Studio Program, Cuchifritos gallery and project space, along with other community art and education activities.
